History has secrets.
We find them.
RuneFacts is an independent history publication dedicated to uncovering the forgotten, the disturbing, and the extraordinary — the stories that textbooks left behind.
Our Purpose
Why RuneFacts exists
History is more than dates and names. Behind every empire, war, discovery, and forgotten ruin lies a human story — sometimes inspiring, sometimes horrifying, and sometimes impossible to explain.
RuneFacts was built to tell those stories honestly and engagingly — not as dry summaries, but as immersive narratives that make the past feel real and urgent again.
The People Behind the Pages
Meet our team
RuneFacts is built and written by people with a shared obsession: finding the stories history tried to forget.
How We Work
Our editorial approach
Every RuneFacts article combines primary historical research with narrative-driven writing. We believe accuracy and great storytelling are not opposites — they are essential to each other.
📚 Research First
Articles are built on documented historical sources, public archives, and academic references wherever possible. We cite, verify, and cross-reference before we write.
✍️ Human-Written
Every article is written and edited by a member of our team. We use standard digital tools for proofreading and image design — the thinking and writing is always ours.
🎨 Visual Storytelling
Where real historical photographs exist, we use them. Where they don’t, we commission realistic documentary-style visual recreations to help readers visualise the past.
🔄 Narrative Reconstruction
For underdocumented events, we use clearly labelled narrative reconstruction — always grounded in verified historical context, never invented for dramatic effect.
⚠️ Content Advisory
RuneFacts explores difficult chapters of human history. Some articles contain themes of violence, war, human suffering, historical crimes, and disturbing practices. All such content is presented strictly for educational and historical documentation purposes.
Content Niches
What we cover
From the pyramids to prohibition-era gangsters — if the story is real, extraordinary, and undersold by mainstream history, it belongs on RuneFacts.
